Who's The Master? Samuel L. Jackson?

Apparently that will be the answer when he steps into the role of Sho' Nuff in the remake of the cult classic The Last Dragon. The character was infamously brought to life by Julius Carry who passed away this year. I can't help but wonder if he would be turning in his grave or not.

"The updated plot will be along the same lines of the original, centering on young martial arts student Leroy Green in his quest through the streets of New York to achieve the highest level of martial arts accomplishment, known as the Last Dragon. Those who achieve the high ranking possess the Glow, making them the greatest fighter alive."

I mean at first I was like aw naw, hell naw! But when I actually started thinking about it, It may turn out to be pretty dope. They seem to have the right components so far. The original director's son is and RZA is involved. So far so good.

Sam is a pretty good fit, actually a perfect fit for Sho' Nuff that is if Busta Rhymes' isn't available. And since Sam has signed on, maybe he can save it from D movie status. Hopefully they will make it a darker, less campy remake that way my fantasy casty picks are at least achievable! Crossing my fingers.

Happy Halloween

If I thought I could get away with it! I would go Trick or Treating! For real. It's not fair! I like Reese's Pieces too, cotdammit! Too bad I don't have any nieces or nephews old enough to cop for me! But instead, I will be partying like the rest of the grown folk! (Frown) Quick question. Do they still give out those nasty candies in the black and orange wrapper that everyone leaves at the bottom of the bag? They have to be dirt cheap to buy right? Well that's what I'll be serving up the kiddies with tonite! Muaahaahaa!

Later, I'll be getting my spin on! I needed a costume idea so I turned to my fav horror flicks for inspiration. Here they are:

First there was Queen Of The Damned

But then I found out her whole entire outfit will run me around $3500. Okay Plan B.

Then there's Rocky Horror Picture Show

I wanted go as Frankenfurter, but it's too damn cold for that outfit. Rocky Horror was on network TV last night, go figure. Ok, on to Plan C.

Carrie

But then corn syrup wouldn't fare well for my turntables so I decides to go as...drumroll, please...a DJ!!!

Happy Halloween, Folks!

Leftovers- Dreaming

Pharrell And Jay-Z Together Again?

It doesn’t look like Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 is coming out this year. There still hasn’t been a video for “Jockin’ Jay-Z (Dope Boy Fresh).” Matter of fact, there hasn’t been a word about the album in weeks, except that Hov is working on it. The only confirmed information is that Jay and Kanye West have done a bunch of tracks together, and the early talk was that Kanye would be the only producer on the album. That is looking more unlikely now. We’ve been hearing a bunch of rumors about other producers Jay is collaborating with (who shall remain nameless — we don’t do rumors, just facts). But one of those guys spoke to us recently: None other than Pharrell Williams, one of Jigga’s main go-to guys. “Of course,” he said when asked whether Jay had called him to work on Blueprint 3. He then took a long pause before refusing to divulge any more info. “He don’t like for you to say so much.” Williams is working with a lot of artists he can talk about right now. We were in the studio with him recently in Atlanta and had a sneak preview of some beats he did for Diddy and the Clipse. One Puff track that really stuck out has the potential to be huge if Diddy does it right. “Puff’s album is crazy,” Williams promised. “Y’all should know that. It’s pretty serious. It’s innovative. “[Lil] Wayne and I had an interesting conversation,” he added about his slate of production work. “We just did Fall Out Boy. We did Cassie, Jadakiss, going in with Fab[olous]. … I can’t think. It’s a bunch of stuff.”

Regarding his nominations in six categories Soulja Boy commented:

"At first I thought y'all forgot about me. I am honored and look forward to taking something home with me!"

-Soulja Boy [Nominee Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, King of the Net, Digital Download of the Year, Off the Hook Award

Regarding his nomination Diddy said:

"Your boy has been nominated for an Online Hip-Hop Award. I've been nominated 'King of the Net.' It's crazy. Thank you to everybody that has logged on to the Diddy blogs, Diddy TV and my Myspace page, Diddy.com. I'm always online. I walk around with my [laptop]. You know, it's king of the net."

-Diddy [Nominee King of The Net ]

"Initially it would seem like the truest nomination because it's literally the people voting for you. It's just the people going on the internet saying they down with me and my music. It's got nothing to do with record sales or radio play. It's just the people. And that's really who you make music for."

Wanna Know Who's Gonna Win The Election? Just Watch Breakin'

Seriously, the second battle scene reads like a recap of the Republican National Convention. Okay, let me break it down by character analysis.

You have Electro Rock who would represent the Democrats. Poppin' Taco (the best dancer in the movie in my opinion) would be Barack Obama; Poppin' Pete will represent Joe Biden and Lollipop (who was gettin' in everybody's ass throught that whole movie) is Hillary Clinton.

Then you have T.K.O. (Although this wasn't their official name until Breakin' 2) which consists of Ozone (my childhood crush) = John McCain and Turbo = Joe Lieberman. Lieberman, if you remember, is a democrat who switched sides to support the GOP. Like Turbo, who should actually be a member of Electro Rock because his dance specialty is poppin' and that's primarily what Electro Rock is good at too but for whatever reason he is on the other team. We will get to that later. Can you guess who Kelly would be? That's right! Good 'ole Sarah Palin!

Now I know it wasn't just me. We all knew that Kelly should not have even been in this movie! Couldn't the producers have picked a more capable dancer? It wasn't like Kelly was the best actress either. Remember the scene where Ozone and Turbo are getting their asses handed to them? That is until they throw Kelly into the middle of the dance floor to the surprise of everyone watching what should've been a beat down. But she basically did what she had to do. Excite the base! Or in this movie, Ice T! Sound familiar? Talk about shock and awe!

If you've seen this movie, needless to say that T.K.O. won the battle that night with that one cheap trick. Ozone may have been an accomplished choreographer/dancer but breaker? Naaaaah! This is why they needed Turbo on the team to look more official in the Breakin' world. And Kelly??? LMFBAO!

Wanna know the reason they won? One word. Sympathy. The powers that be, Hollywood, will have you sympathizing with a serial killer! How many of ya'll are rooting for Dexter, The serial killer on Showtime? Believe it or not the GOP is playing by the same rules. Using McCain's war hero status and Palin's pageant looks for leverage. We felt sorry for Ozone and Turbo. We know they shouldn't have won that battle, but that's Hollywood for ya! We feel sorry for McCain as well. He's old as hell and this is his last chance at glory. It plays like a typical Hollywood movie. Top Gun anyone? But don't believe the hype. In order for Obama to nip this thing, he needs to play to America's sympathy too. Ya know razzle, dazzle 'em. 'Cause somebody's gonna have to save Miracle's. Er... I mean America.

Reebok Takes An "L"

On November 8th, LEADERS 1354 will release their NEW ERA 59Fifty fitted baseball cap that ties to their Reebok Jams. They took inspiration from the Chicago Transit Authority, with that they incorporated all of the colors of train lines for the crown of the cap. Where The Big Girls At?

I'm feeling this! Mike Epps made this Bow Wow record funny! Reminds me of "No Sex In The Champaign Room." And since the song is about big girls, wouldn't you just love to hear Redman freestyle off this?

Where Were You When The South Took Over?

The year was 2003. I can tell you where I was. In ATL stuck in traffic trying to get to Hot 107.9 because I was gonna be spinning on the air for their Allstar Mixshow Weekend. Damn near every street was gridlocked, but lucky for me I was able to manuever out of it to get to some short cuts. Ok, I flaunted my lovely lady lumps at the cars beside me to let me through! Hey!!! Use 'em or lose 'em! And no I didn't show 'em! Umm...

Anyway there were 3 songs on that weekend that would have a huge impact on the world and alter the face of the music industry forever. Here are those 3 songs:

David Banner - "Like A Pimp"

Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz - "Get Low"

Bonecrusher - "Neva Scared"

**I have to mention that this was also the weekend that 50 Cent's 1st album Get Rich Or Die Trying dropped. "In The Club" became a force to be wreckon with as well! All in all, it was a very good weekend!

Quality Over Commerce

We have all been equalized. Yep, thanks to the internet, that big socializer in the...sky? Everyone is a star now! Wasn't it Andy Worhol who predicted that "in the future everyone will have 15 minutes of fame?" Wasn't he on crack? Oh, L.S.D., my bad.

Well basically everyone is getting their 15 minutes whether you like it or not. It's like Night Of The Living Dead except its not always dark outside. So what happens now? If you are serious about the product you put out then keep doing what you do? If you really love it, you would do it for free, right? I think that is why Lil Wayne is so relevant and it's also why he is literally one of few rappers who are still selling a milli (yeah I know.) He put out so much music for free. I don't even want to think about how many sixteens he sacrificed for our beloved mixtapes. He's done that many! I'm not even a big fan of Wayne but you have to admit the hustle is phenomenal!

I took an Art course at Georgia State University. We learned the difference between art and commerce. Basically, we learned that if you create something with the intent to reproduce it over and over it ceases to be art. You don't see too many Mona Lisa's floating around do you? How would you feel if a company started selling Mona Lisa's like hotcakes? Sure you may buy it for the novelty of saying, "Yeah, I got a Mona Lisa. It's hanging right over my pool table." But then the company almost always comes back and says, Ok, If you have the Mona Lisa, then you need to get this Mary Louise and next thing you know they selling you the Bomquisha.

Now don't get me wrong, I feel these rappers and their pain when it comes to the download debacle. But if you put your heart into your records then your reward is threefold. I will go on a limb right now and bet that Kanye's next album will be his biggest to date. Anybody with me?

So thanks to Lime Wire and many others we can download as many mp3s as we please. Artists may get mad but there is no stopping it. It's like trying to push back a tsunami, kind of like Obama's democratic campaign. The best you can do, if you are an artist, is make yourself novel. Put out "art" because you feel it. Not because you are contractually obligated to do so. Because if all you are looking for is fame, they have Myspace, Facebook and Twitter for that!

Jim Jones "Day And Nite" Remix

Ok, Jimmy!

Swagger Like Her - Rutina Wesley "Black Coffee"

Rutina, who plays Tara Thornton and Sookie Stackhouse's best friend on my new favorite HBO show True Blood, is the one to look out for! Not since the days of the 80's sitcom era have I seen someone who looked like the normal, around the way black girl! Rutina plays a sassy, shit talking waitress who's best friend is in love with a vampire. Tara (Rutina) is also dealing with the drama of her mother who is a drunk who recently underwent an exorcism to get rid of her demons. She seems to get herself rapped up with some crazy, although beautiful, tasty looking men as she has a budding love interest in her boss who own's the bar she works in. When you get a chance, watch the show! It is bananas to say the least. You won't be disappointed!

I am so looking forward to seeing where Rutina's career will take her. The girl is B.A.D.! And if you've seen just one episode of True Blood then you know why! Think you recognize her? You may remember her from last year's The Way She Move, which is her only movie role to date. However, she is no stranger to Broadway. She has several plays to her credit to include The Color Purple.

Phonte, I nominate Rutina for your next Black Coffee List okay?

General Steele (Smif & Wesson) "Letter To Obama"

Steele Says " One day I was inspired to do this song. I know alot of people have their opinion about the whole election especially Obama. No I do not look at him as the savior of the "black" race. I think he does represent the potential of "black" people. So I say he is a positive role model win or lose. "

Happy Birthday Snoop Dogg!

Calvin Broadus is 37 today. Here some of my favorite vids from the living legend! "We looooooove you Snoop Dogg!"

I can't wait to here the album tentatively titled "Malice In Wonderland, " inspired by a session the rapper had with composer Lalo Schifrin.

"He conducted some music for me that was so sinister, so evil, mean and dark," Snoop described. "I just wanted to make a record like that. That’s just the way I feel." Malice should be dropping some time next year.

The 10 Most Memorable Hip Hop Skits

10. Eminem - "Two Men And A Van" Marshal Mathers LP Promo Tape

I think that Eminem has to be the bravest rapper alive let alone the craziest. I can see where 50 Cent gets his balls from. "Two Men And A Van" is basically a prank phone call amongst many on this CD where Slim impersonates a tough sounding gay man. The CD wasn't actually released to the public but if you just so happen to own this jewel...Kudos!

9. Ol' Dirty Bastard - Intro to "Going Down" Return To The 36 Chambers

"Remember when we was young? And we used to go....aaahhhaaahhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Punch Car!!!" This will never not be funny! Who didn't do that as a child really? Actually I think Ol' Dirty Bastard has to be the bravest rapper that ever existed.

8. Lil Jon And The Eastside Boyz - "Bo Hagon's Phone Call" Crunk Juice

I had Bo Hagon come to the studio to recreate this skit for my radio show but it never quite came out like the original masterpiece. For some strange reason ever since this skit came out, I haven't had any problems getting my long winded friends of the phone.

7. Little Brother - "Make Me Hot, Pete!" The Listening

Jeez! It was soooo hard trying to choose a skit from any Little Brother LP. Phonte is so comedically talented it's not even funny! Pun intended. I struggled trying to choose between the "5th & Fashion" bit from The Minstrel Show and the Veterans skit on DJ Drama's Separate But Equal mixtape. Ultimately I picked Make Me Hot, Pete because it was a definitive parody that pokes fun at artists' while in the studio who feel it's the producer's duty to make them into a star. A first as far as I know. I'm still waiting on Phonte's real R&B album. I can settle for Gordon Gartrelle Radio for now. Hold me down, Peeeeete!

6. Outkast - "Kim And Cookie" Stankonia

Now you may have heard the typical female skit where she talks about her man and his...uh...shortcomings, but how many times have you heard it done with that dirty, southern Atlien drawl?

5. Redman - "The Stick Up" Muddy Waters

You would be hard pressed to find another who can rival the comedic genious that is Reggie Noble. Once again so many skits to chose, but I do remember me and my sis having this one on extra repeat for the first three months that this album came out. Nothing like a crackhead singing about soda on a sunny day in the neighborhood!

4. Dr. Dre - "The $20 Sack Pyramid" The Chronic

I never realized how important weed was to a weed smoker until I heard this mock up of the $20,000 Pyramid game show. When I listen to it now I think to myself, "How the hell was I allowed to listen to this when I was younger?" I guess the fact that my folk partook in the occasional green treats may have had just a little bit to do with it!

3. Snoop Dogg - "W-Balls" Doggystyle

The most infamous radio show skit in existence. Whatever happened to DJ E-Z Dick anyway?

2. Wu-Tang Clan - A tie between "Where My Killah Tape?" and "Torture" Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers

The infamous "Where My Killa Tape?" had every one thinking they were from the east coast using adjectives like God or Kid, talking about cyphers and what not? The question of where the Killa tape is remains a mystery to this day.

And of course, "Torture Muthafuckah!" "I'll fuckin I'll fuckin tie you to a fuckin bed post with your ass cheeks spread out and shit, right? Put a hanger on the fuckin stove and let that shit sit there for like a half hour, take it off and stick it in your ass slow like Tssssssssssss." As funny as this was/is, no one seems to be disturbed the repressed homosexuality going on in this bit, but that's a whole 'nother story.

1. De La Soul - "Intro" 3 Feet And Rising

This is the intro that started a tradition of hilarious and not so hilarious bits that have contributed to many classics Hip Hop albums for years to come. Kicking off De La's freshman effort with the Game Show skit we get a glimpse into the crazy mind of Prince Paul. Wow! What was he thinking? Although these skits sound similar to the tapes that me and my cousins used to record of ourselves back in the Chi, it's still very innovative in that you neve,' ever expected to be able to relate to an artist other than through song. Skits are a staple on every De La Soul Album and almost every other rapper's album. Needless to say that the idea was catchy.

Honorable Mentions:

1. Mobb Deep - "Prodigy Speaks" The Infamous

2. Notorious B.I.G. - "The Madd Rapper" Life After Death

3. Kanye West - "Intro" College Drop Out

4. The Fugees - "Chinese Restaurant" The Score

5. Lil Kim - "Intro In A Minor" Hard Core

Obama/A Tribe Called Quest T-Shirt

I just voted today! Just wanted to brag about that real quick and also show off this T-shirt from the brainasium of DJ Mick Boogie. If you cop one, please remember that you cannot wear these to the polls on November 4th. Rock it at victory party later that night.

Can I kick it? YES WE CAN!

DJ AM: Welcome Home Party

Glad to see that everything is back to business as usual with DJ A.M. His 1st gig since the accident is tonight with none other than Jay-Z tonite @ The Palladium in Hollywood. Here's a photo of him as he enters his party at Avalon Hollywood in L.A. on Tuesday, October 14th. DJ's Mark Ronson, Steve Aoki, Mix Master Mike, Vice, and Fashen were also in attendance.

Dope!

M.I.A. Pregnancy Pics, Pharrel's Jacket, Lupe's Shoes

31 year old M.I.A. whose real name is Mathangi Arulpragasam has confirmed that she is indeed preggers. Supposedly by singer/guitarist Benjamin Brewer. "I'm creating a baby," she eloquently declares! Congrats, Mama!

And on another note peep the Thriller jacket Pharrel is rocking! Oooooooh!

I Wonder is he is wearing Lupe Fiasco's brand new Chuck Taylors with it?
Sorry kids! You can't even get these until next year! Unless you got the LF connect? Anyone?

Damn, Tip must have a J. Dilla Depot in his basement or something! Not that I mind one bit keep 'em coming!

Q-Tip - "Move"

West Coastin'

Ever since I spent some time in L.A. I have been diggin up 'Ol School West Coast Classics from the 90's. Shouts to my girl, DJ Eque! Takes me back to the days I used to run home from school to catch Rap City. R.I.P.

(One of the best samples to "Everyone Loves The Sunshine" in my opinion.)

Digital Display

I want one of these but I want them to make some for women! The T-shirt really acts like an equalizer. You can get em at nitelifedesigns.com.

Red Alert Honored At The 11th Annual Justo's Mixtape Awards

DJ Red Alert was presented with an honorary "Red Justo" Award by Mixtape Awards CEO Stacy Lynch for his 25 years on the radio and his countless contributions to the Justo's Mixtape Awards. The event was held at Drom, located in the heart of the East Village, and was hosted by the WonderTwinz. DJs Superstar Jay and No E blessed the turntables, as legendary deejays such as DJ Scratch (EPMD) and DJ Wiz (Kid-n-Play) were in attendance to pay homage to DJ Red Alert. Other notable guests included Michael Rapaport, Freedom Williams of C&C Music Factory, Mike D of The Jungle Brothers, Greg Nice of Nice & Smooth, Joe Ski Love, AB Butler of Violator Management, DJ Bedtyme357, and many of DJ Red Alert's closest friends and family including his youngest son George (aka "G Mims"). Flud Watches, Mitchell & Ness, Hollis Kingz, & Fi-Hi presented DJ Red Alert with special gifts because of his strong impact on the hip-hop and deejay culture.
Red Alert expressed his disdain for the events that took place at the 10th Annual Mixtape Awards, held at the World-Famous Apollo Theater. Red recalled the somber mood of the event, which took place just months after Justo Faison's passing, and the utter disrespect the crowd showed "right in front of [Justo's] son, I mean his son was sitting right there in the balcony." But Red concluded, "I'm happy that the young lady [Stacy Lynch] is going to clean it up" and expressed his support for the new regime. Soon after Red Alert led a chant "When I say Just, you say O" and the crowd eagerly participated: "Just, O! Just, O!" It was most certainly a night to remember.

I hear that they are in the process of giving the Justo Awards a much needed overhaul. R.I.P. to Justo. I have been fortunate enough to be nominated for Best Female Mixtape DJ more times than I can remember. We miss you.

Swagger Like Her - Meagan Good, The New Scream Queen!

Photobucket
Scream Queen - (noun.) An actress who has become associated with horror films, either through an appearance in a notable entry in the genre, as a frequent victim, or through constant appearances as the female protagonist [from wikipedia.] I got a chance to meet and hang out with Meagan Good while I was living in L.A. She is a party girl to fullest. She was at every hot spot. Very sweet BTW! Look out for her in Saw V in theaters October 24th. I'm thinking Meagan is well on her way to becoming our Scream Queen. We don't really have one yet, but with the roles Ms. Good has been taking on as of late, I think we should get used to calling her the real Murda Mami!

Meagan Good Horror Flick Credits:

Saw V (2008)

Meagan plays: Luba and since this movie comes out on October 24th, I won't give ya'll any spoilers but I did hear that her character has an interesting role.

How she dies: Haven't seen it yet.

One Missed Call (2008)

Meagan Good plays: Shelley Baum

How she dies: She meets her unfortunate fate when she's pulled into her backyard pool by the spirit of the phone curse.

Venom (2005)

Meagan Plays: Cece, Granddaughter of a Voodoo priestest who comes to the aid of the teens being stalked by the evil, mysterious zombie death-dealer.

How She dies: Slashed at the neck.

The Unborn (2009)

Meagan Good plays: Romy who's the best friend of Casey, played by Odette Yustman. Casey believes that she's being hunted by her dead twin and Romy (Meagan) trying to convince her that she's not crazy.

How she dies: Again, no spoilers!

You Choose, You Choose!

It's funny how everyone was hating Kanye's "Love Lockdown." Now everyone is jumping on it! I knew it was a hit as soon as he did it on the MTV Music Awards. Allhiphop.com has compiled all of the best remixes of "Love Lockdown" for you to pick the best one. My personal favorite would be Royce Da 5'9. I have some of 'em here so check 'em out.

Angie, Come On Now!!!

I'm all for baby nourishment but, er, um....dammit come on, now! I don't need to see you breast feeding your child. Is nothing sacred anymore? SMH...I will give it to you, though? Demi has nothing on you. I suppose we'll be seeing birth on our magazine covers next?

Swag On A Stick

Now those who know me well know that I am an avid horror movie fantic or anything gore driven, but vampire flicks/shows are my favorites. So imagine how delighted I was when HBO created a show that I could really sink my teeth into. True Blood is the brand new show that centers around a town called Bon Temps in Louisiana. Vampires are out of the closet er...coffin so to speak and humans have to deal with it.

The show is mainly centered around Sookie played by Anna Paquin (X-Men) but the whole entire cast is the bomb, but one character in particular sticks out the most. His name is Lafayette, played by Nelsan Ellis. Lafayette plays a lip-stick, eyeliner wearing, short order grill cook who is flamboyant and unapologetic in his sexual status. And why should he be? Come and test him and you will understand his gangsta. I love it! He is like the new Omar of HBO. Dude has many a hustle: From bar cook, to prostitute, to drug dealer to owner of a gay internet porn site, Lafayette keeps me rollin' every Sunday night. I love the way he interacts with Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten-sex on a stick!). And did I forget to mention he is from the Chi? My DVR is set for the rest of the season.

Common f. Pharrell Williams "Universal Mind Control"

Dope!

Ode To Lisa Bonet

Now for those who are not aware Lisa Bonet predates the reigning queen of lightskindedness that is Esquire Magazine's 2008 Sexiest Woman Alive...er...Halle Berry. We can probably thank Ms. Bonet alone for the booming billionaire bleaching cream industry that began in the 80's. She just may be Kelis' style icon as well. You can catch Lisa on ABC's adaptation of the UK show, "Life On Mars!" airing Thursday nights at 10pm Eastern. Lisa says, "Don't call it a comeback!"

Here are some pics of Lisa throughout the years:
Cosby Lisa

A Different World Lisa:

The movie that changed everything Lisa. Think Halle Berry in Monster's Ball
Hi Fidelity Lisa! (One of my favorite movies). If you are a music fan, you will enjoy this movie.

The Party Of The Year?

Could it be? Diesel and the grand finale of their xXx party series on October 11th promises to be a night you won't forget. That is if you can get in. I'm not even gonna act like I'll be there. Although I would love to see N.E.R.D. and M.I.A., I can barely afford to rock some Diesel shoe laces let alone a T-shirt even. I digress. For those who manage to sneek in, try to snag a little schwag for me!

Let's just hope that this party isn't anything like that Diesel porno flick that's been floating around on the net.

This looks movie looks good! Let me call my bootlegger!

RocknRolla. Nah, It really does look good! And no I do not watch bootlegs! I repeat, NO BOOTLEGS! That is, of course, unless the movie sucks but not this one. Okay? Plus, I gotta support the hometeam! Ludacris is in it! I'm surprised Common didn't make an appearance or does he??? Seems like he likes to follow Jeremy Piven everywhere he goes doesn't he? Let me stop! Common is fam, too! That's right anyone from the Chi is automatically fam. It's an unwritten rule. Anyway, I will be paying for this movie for the cast alone is top notch. The movie stars Gerard Butler (300), Idris Elba (not that good of a DJ but I love the way you can switch up an accent, bruh), the beautiful Thandie Newton and the aforementioned Jeremy Piven and Luda. You sure Common isn't in this??

Kanye West "Love Lockdown" Video

Believe it or not I may be telepathically linked with Kanye and video director Hype Williams on this one. When I heard this song for the first time I thought to myself, "Kanye should be in an all white insane asylum tied up in an all white stylish straight jacket." After all it is Kanye, right? Anyway, I thought that he should be imagining the African tribe playing drums along with sexy African women in war paint. Well, they got it half right. Kanye says this video was inspired by American Psycho because he feels like Patrick Bateman played by Christian Bale. See Kanye, you are crazy, but you are a genious! I will send you the treatment for the next video! On a side note: This single sounds like Kanye is trying to come out of the closet or atleast fuel gay rumors. All publicity is good publicity, right? Now, I do not think for one minute that Kanye is gay despite what has been said about him in the past but listen to the lyrics and decide for yourself. Plus, he did premier this video on the Ellen Show? Hmmmm....
